You wanna see a spontaneous break-it-down hoot-n-holler dance party at the studio? Play Eliza Doolittle’s Pack Up. Yeah, we’re completely obsessed with it, so much in fact that a year from now we may very well cringe upon hearing the the first note of the introduction. Honestly, though, it’s totally worth the ruin, and till then we’ll play it and play it and play it and play it, which is A WHOLE LOT of breakin-it-down and hootin-n-hollerin – and how can one really tire of that?!?

life’s an Absolut drag – and we love it!
Vodka and drag queens make dreams come true…at least in our world. The only thing missing is a splash of ds to make the cocktail complete! So when we were asked by the peeps at Absolut to provide a sociaLight for RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Season 4 Finale/Reunion we nearly fell off our bippies with excitement and surprise, due to our unhealthy aviriciousness with all things Eleganza…oh, there was scurrying and fireworks and sequins and hollers every which way, we were so ready for it! And sho nuff, not a wig, bugle bead or eyelash went unused for this stiletto-studded event, chock full of done-up dames from both this and past seasons. Much thanks goes to Absolut for giving us a nice ‘ol buzz and RuPaul for bringing our dreams and thangs to life – ALL HAIL THE QUEENS!!

we’re straight-up (field) trippin on Cindy Sherman
The new studio at 17-17 Troutman has proven itself to be a mecca of inspiration and creativity, no doubt, but sometimes you just need ta get out da house. For us, this can only mean one thing – Field Trip!!
For our first team excursion, we kick-ball-changed our way to the MoMA for the Sherman retrospective. Kids, we thought we knew how to play dress up, but Ms. Sherman sure showed us a thing or twelve about giving you a complete head to toe.
In the past 35 years, Sherman has created a body of work more influential than most photographers of her time. A grade-A title collector, Sherman has said “poo-poo” to the traditional team dynamic and took the spotlight all for herself, acting as photographer, stylist, model, muse – E’ERBODY! She has perfected a perspective which proves impossible to replicate, and if you’re not familiar with her, grab your best peeps, skip work, and get your butt to the MoMA! (Insider Secret: Go on Friday, it’s free from 4-8 – holla!)

Why we are obsessed with Somebody I Used to Know, by Gotye (feat. Kimbra):
1. It’s slinky and groovy, and we love slinky and groovy.
2. There’s some tormented indie sangin’, and we LOVE tormented indie sangin’.
3. Semi-nudity, paint-by-numbers and a gloriously shiny bob-n-bang coif featured on Ms. Thang. Now, that’s a lot of ”-”s, and we LOOOOOOOVE ”-”s….as well as that other stuff.
